How to maintain the extension cord?
Always store cords indoors and unplug extension cords if not in use. Regular inspection Extension cords, and throw away damaged cords. When disconnecting from the outlet, remove the plug, not the power cord.
Never remove the grounding pin of an extension cord to plug into a two-prong outlet, avoid using one power cord to power multiple devices, never use an indoor extension cord outdoors, and never plug multiple cords together and on carpets or furniture Lay extension cords underneath, never stick extension cords to the floor or fasten them to surfaces with staples or nails. Do not bend or twist the power cord during use. Extension cords that feel hot to the touch should be discontinued.
1. The power extension cord should be used within the allowable capacity. Do not plug too many electrical appliances. For electrical appliances with high power consumption, do not share a set of sockets or use multiple sets of sockets in series.
2. Do not insert and press the wire and row under the heavy object, which will cause the copper wire inside the wire to break and cause disconnection, and the breakfast current will cause high heat danger through excessive load.
3. When using the power strip, the power cord should not be bundled for aesthetic reasons. After the wires are bundled and pressed, the heat will easily accumulate in the bundle, and the breakfast plastic insulator will be covered with overheating and melting, which will cause the copper wire to short-circuit and catch fire.
4. Power extension sockets and power lines of electrical equipment should be avoided near combustibles to prevent short-circuit ignition of combustibles and cause more serious consequences.
Choose a power cord with a polarized or three-conductor plug. For larger appliances, thick, round, low-gauge extension cords are best. For smaller appliances and electronics, you can use thin or flat wire.
If used incorrectly, extension cords can overheat and cause a fire. Overheating is usually caused by overloading or connecting devices that draw more power than the power cord can handle. A damaged extension cord can also cause a fire. Extension cords are for temporary use only.
If you want to increase the number of power outlets for a single power supply, use a power strip. Use an extension cord if you want to extend power to a device that is far away.
